NEWS UPDATE

1. The official inauguration of CMI Mission in Arunachal Pradesh taken up by St. Paul's Province, Bhopal, was held in Tuting, on 15th March, 2017. Rt. Rev. Dr. John Thomas, Bishop of Itanagar made the inauguration of the CMI Mission during the Eucharistic celebration and declared the centre of Tuting as a parish and installed Rev. Fr. Nijo Palatty as the parish priest. Rev. Fr. Sijo Chakkeri is the Mission Superior. Rev. Fr. Prior General, Rev. Fr. Kurian Kachappilly, Provincial, Rev. Fr. Thomas Pulickal, the Provincial Councillor, CMI members , MSFS Fathers and sisters attended the function along with good number of parish community. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Provincial and team and the young missionaries for taking up the mission on the borders of China. The mission was taken up by the initial interaction by Rev. Fr. Paulson Thaliyath followed by diaconate ministry of Fr. Nijo and Lijo and later the ministry of Rev. Fr. Sijo and Nijo in different parishes in the diocese of Itanagar. Let us pray for our young missionaries in the New Mission in the North East.

2. A study on our major study houses in Pune, Wardha, Bhopal, Rishikesh and Kolchoor was conducted by a committee consisting of Bp. Gratian Mundadan, Rev. Fr. Kurian Kachappilly, Rev. Fr. Wilson Moyalan and Rev. Fr. George Edayadiyil. Thanks to the committee members for their strenuous efforts and all our members in all the study houses for their cooperation.
3. 40 hours adoration was held in Carmel Monastery, Vazhakulam on 7th, 8th and 9th March, 2017. Being the 150th Year of the 40 Hours Adoration, people came from far and near and there was a larger participation of parish priests from the Diocese of Kothamangalam and CMI members.
4. Congratulations to our missionaries in Brazil for their exemplary missionary efforts. They have made breakthroughs by going to the peripheries where no one has gone so far. They took the bold step of staying in the boat during night and moving to the villages. Let us pray for these bold missionaries in Brazil.
5. Ecuador Missionaries launched a new initiative, Chavara Centro de Capacitacion, supported by General Social Apostolate Department to empower the children and the youth after the earthquake on 16th March, 2017. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Vicar General, Rev. Fr Joshy Pudussery, the Coordinator and the missionaries in Ecuador for the new momentum in Ecuador.
6. 150th anniversary of 40 Hours adoration started by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, our founder, will be celebrated on 24, 25 and 26th March, 2017 at St. Mary's Monastery, Elthuruth.
7. Diaconate of our scholastics in Kenya was held on 25th February 2017 at Hekima University College Chapel. Congratulations to Deacons Alexander, Danu and Linto.
8. Minor orders will be conferred on 16 scholastics in Samnvaya on 25th March, 2017 at Prithvipal Sadan, Rishikesh. Mar John Vadakkel, Bishop of Bijnor will confer the minor orders.
9. 26 scholastics of Dharmaram will be conferred the order of diaconate by Mar Jose Pulickal, Auxiliary Bishop, Diocese of Kanjirappilly at 9 a.m. on 29th March, 2017. 18 scholastics will be conferred the minor orders at 6 p.m. on 28th March, 2017.

10. Diaconate of our scholastics in Samanvaya Bhopal was held on 5th February, 2017. Mar Antony Kariyil, Bishop of Mandya was the main celebrant to confer the order of diaconate. Congatualtions to the newly ordained deacons.
11. CMI Educational Summit which was postponed due to the Cauvery issue will be held on 12th, 13th and 14th May 2017 at Engineering College Campus of Christ University Bangalore. All our members engaged in the apostolate of Education shall attend the program. Please do make the registration at the earliest and plan the journey to gain the concession of the early bird. 12. 13th of May, 2017 we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Marian Apparitions of Fatima. Let us dedicate our congregation and thank the Lord for the maternal protection. Let us continue our Marian devotion more vigorously like Blessed Francisco and Jacinta and the Servant of God Lucia. From the feast of Annunciation to the Blessed virgin Mary on 25th March, 2017 till 13th May, 2017, let us make 50 days of intense Marian devotion as worthy sons of our Lady.
13. Provincial Synaxes will be held from 31st March till 8th April, 2017 in 15 provinces of the congregation. Let us pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit to make the right discernment regarding the direction and leadership of the provinces to continue the legacy of Religious Life initiated by our Founding Fathers.
