1. Celebrating Celibacy, an ongoing formation program for CMIs ordained in 2016 was held from 13 to 15 March 2018, at CMI Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, Kakkanad. Rev. Fr. Vicar General welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the inaugural message. Rev. Fr. Augustine Pamplani and Adovcate Litto Palathingal were the resource persons. The participants made the personal sharing based on their one year experience as a priest, reflected on their life and set a direction for the future and had opportunity for confession. Thanks to Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheruprambil, the General Formation Coordinator and Rev. Fr. Paul Chakkanikunnel, the Prefect and Chavara Hills family.


2. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation in Chavara Bhavan - Kainakary, St. Joseph’s Ashram - Karikkamury, Chavara Contemplative Ashram - Kakkadampoil and St. Elias Aranyashram -Niravilpuzha from 15th to 20th March, 2018.


3. Minor orders and Diaconate of our scholastics were held on March 21 and 22 respectively at Dharmaram College, Bengaluru. Mar Prince Antony, Bishop of Adilabad, conferred the orders. Rev. Fr. Prior General attended the ordination ceremonies.

4. Rev. Fr. Prior General visited Samanvaya Bhopal on March 23 and Darsana, Wardha on March 24, met with the staff and students.


5. The residential retreat at Chavara Hills during the holy week will commence from March 27 till Easter Sunday.


6. Canonical visitation of the Prior General and Renewal Program in South Indian Provinces will commence on 3rd April in St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram.

7. Get together of the newly professed CMIs will be held in Chavara Hills from 7th evening to 10th evening in April 2018.


8. The one month immediate preparatory programme for the perpetual profession of our scholastics will commence in Chavara Hills Kakkanad on 22nd April 2018.


9. CMI Media Meet to be organized by the General Department of Education and Mass Media will be held on April 30th and May 1st 2018 at Chavara Hills. All the CMIs engaged in media ministry including cultural and dialogue centres shall attend the programme.


10. Higher Education Round Table - A Two-day conference of the CMIs working in the field of Higher Education will be held on August 3rd and 4th 2018 at Chavara Hills, Kakkanad.


11. One Day Seminar for Fresh Teachers in CMI educational institutions on ‘CMI Vision of Education’ will be held at Chavara Hills on August 18, 2018.

12. CMI Board of Education Meet and a seminar on CMI Vision of Education will be held at Chavara Hills on August 18 -19, 2018.


13. Round Table for CMIs Teaching/Administering in CMI Schools will be held on October 19th-20th, 2018 at Christ University Engineering Campus, Mysore Road, Bangalore.

• Mr. Thomas Kunniparambil (92) beloved father of Rev. Fr. Joseph Kunniparambil CMI of St. Thomas Province, Kozhikode, slept in the Lord. Funeral was held on Tuesday 20th March 2018 at 2.30 pm at Fatima Matha Church, Peruvannamuzhy. May the Risen Lord grant him abiding peace and eternal joy.


• Mr. Varkey (107) Beloved Father of Rev. Fr. Xavier Kizhakkemyalil CMI of St. Joseph Province Kottayam slept in the Lord. The funeral was held on Tuesday 20th March 2018 at 03.00 pm at St. Xaviers Church, Mannarapara. May the Risen Lord grant him abiding peace and eternal joy.


• Mr. Dominic (Johny) (63) Beloved younger Brother of Rev. Fr. Joseph Valiyathazhath CMI, slept in the Lord. The funeral was held on Wednesday 21st March 2018 at 03.00 pm at St. John the Baptist Church, Kanjirathanam. May the Risen Lord grant him abiding peace and eternal joy.
