1) The Kanona Namaskaram (Liturgy of Hours) prepared by Fr. Abel CMI, is available on the ‘CMI Global’ App. Prayers are auto-updated for each day, with the Gospel and Epistle readings from the Liturgical Calendar. Evening Prayer ends with Prayer for the Departed, which also includes the information on the departed members commemorated the following day. Night Prayer ends with the Concluding Prayer of the day and the traditional Marian Hymn (Mathrstavam) for the day.
It also offers CMI Obituary in English and liturgical readings in Syro-Malabar and Latin Rites (both in English and Malayalam). Basic information on our CMI Congregation (including the members and address of institutions) is also given in the same App. Special thanks and appreciation to Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal CMI and the team for the tireless effort to realize this project.
2) In May, the whole Congregation started to recite a prayer of Pope Francis in seeking the intercession Mother Mary for the Corona affected world. Furthermore, 3rd May was observed as prayer day in response to the call by Mar George Alanchery, Major Arch Bishop of Syro-Malabar Church. Let us fold our hands together before God to overcome this crisis of COVID 19.
3) The 189th Foundation day of our congregation was celebrated on 11 May 2020. It was a day of gratitude and appreciation to the founders of our Congregation and their followers. All CMIs celebrated the day, reflecting on the charism and vision of our Congregation.
4) Congratulations and prayerful wishes to Rev. Fr. Thomas Kalambatt CMI, who is doing a heroic ministry among COVID-19 infected patients in the USA. He anointed many COVID-19 infected patients at St. Francis Xavier Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
5) A video conference of the new General Administration team with all the Provincials was held on 13 May 2020. It was a platform to share the concerns of each one in the context of lockdown. All the Provincials made a briefing of the current situation in each Province and the initiatives they had taken during the lockdown. Various aspects such as Provincial chapters, formation, education, social involvement, etc. were discussed in the meeting.
6) On 17 May scholastics who completed their theological studies at Dharmaram College were ordained Deacons by Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath, Bishop of Mandya. Mar James Athikalam, Bishop of Sagar conferred Diaconate to the scholastics at Samanvaya, Bhopal on 20 May. Congratulations dear deacons!
7) A Zoom Conference of the Education Councillors of all our Provinces was coordinated by Rev. Fr. Martin Mallathu CMI, General Councillor for Education and Communication Media on 20 May 2020. Rev. Fr. Josey Thamarassery CMI, Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thekkedathu, former General Councillor for Education and Communication Media and all the Provincial Councillors for Education and Communication Media participated in the conference. Topics such as the challenges of online classes, preparation for reopening of schools, financial crisis in institutions, etc. were discussed.
8) CMI Congregation has made an effective intervention against the COVID 19 pandemic by providing various facilities such as food materials, masks; hand sanitizer & hand wash kits, hospital facilities, awareness campaign, medicine, accommodation, direct cash support, community kitchen, counseling, media intervention, drone services, seedlings, personnel support, etc. A total amount of rupees 23,151,127 was already spent and around 4,76,581 people have benefited from it. Hats off to the Social Work Department under Rev. Fr. Biju Vadakkel CMI and all the Provincial Councillors of the Department of Social Work.
9) Polyglot Choir, a prayer for the healing of the world in many tongues by CMI fathers and many others, under the direction of Rev. Fr. Prem Choorackal CMI (Mar Thoma Province, Chanda) became viral. The heart blowing melody appeared in a feature story of the Deepika Newspaper as well. Congratulations!
10) A Zoom conference of the Novice Masters, coordinated by the Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheruparambil, General Formation Coordinator, was held on 26 May 2020. Rev. Fr. Thomas Chathamparambil CMI, Prior General and Rev. Fr. Josey Thamarassery, Vicar General were present for the conference.

2. A Zoom conference of the Vocation Promoters is scheduled on Saturday, 30 May 2020 at 11.00 am.

1. Mrs. Mariakutty Joseph Aykara (82), beloved sister of Rev. Fr. Thomas Aykara CMI (St. Joseph’s Province, Kottayam) was called to eternal reward on 13 May 2020. The funeral was held on the same day at St. George Church, Mutholy.
2. Rev. Fr. George Kasamkulam CMI (79) (St. Thomas Province, Kozhikode) was called to eternal reward on 09 May 2020. The funeral was held on the same day at Lourdes Monastery, Koodathai, Thamarassery.
3. Mr. Peter Mullooparambil (89), beloved father of Rev. Fr. Sebastian Mullooparambil CMI (St. Thomas Province, Kozhikode) was called to eternal reward on 30 April 2020 and the funeral was held on the same day at St. Sebastian’s Church, Vazhavatta, Kalpetta.
4. Mrs. Kunjamma Kavil (75), beloved elder sister of Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthenpura CMI (St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvanthapuram) was called to eternal reward on 26 April 2020. The funeral was held on 27 April 2020 at St Antony’s church Cheepunkal, Kumarakom.
5. Mrs. Reetha (94), beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Denny Vazhapilly CMI (St. Paul's Province, Bhopal) was called to eternal reward on 23 April 2020. The funeral was held on 24 April 2020 at St. George Church, Malavana, Puthenvelikara.
6. Mr. Thomas, beloved father of Fr. Shaju Chiramel CMI (Devamatha Province, Thrissur) was called to eternal reward on Sunday, 19 April 2020 and the funeral was held on Monday, 20 April 2020.
7. Bro. Emmanuel Kaniyamparambil OCD (78), beloved brother of late Rev. Fr. Mathew Kaniyamparambil CMI (Mar Thoma Province, Chanda) and Rev. Fr. Philip Kaniyamparambil CMI (St. Joseph’s Province, Kottayam) was called to eternal reward on 18 April 2020. The funeral was held on the same day at St. Lissue Ashram, Muvattupuzha.
